Beam N Read Personal Reading Light Blast

Welcome to a blast for the Beam n Read Personal Reading Light!

Beam n Read

New edition Beam n Read Hands-Free Light delivers a wide & bright light that lights up 2 book pages and doesn't disturb others. It's a true reading light that works with all printed books, Kindles and other eReaders (whether naked, skinned, or covered), PLUS newspapers, magazines, newsletters, loose documents, and other items that can't support a clip-on light. Worn around the neck, there's no need to shift it when reading paperbacks.

Included are two 2 special Relaxation Filters: BNR Orange for a softer, warmer light that blocks energizing blue light (especially useful when reading to relax in bed); BNR Red to block blue light and reduce ambient light for sensitive bed partners.

Standard alkaline AA batteries (not included) last an extra long 100 hours, far longer than flashlights and clip-on lights resulting in a lower cost to use (and fewer batteries in the trash). This light is still bright when others have gone dim. Save batteries for when you're on the go with the optional USB/AC Power Kit with 12 ft of cable that lets you plug into the included USB/AC adapter. Or plug into a USB car adapter/charger, or a computer USB port, or a USB adapter/charger for cell phones, etc.

In addition to reading, this 3 LED hands-free light is great for crafts, travel, and walking in dim or dark places such as an attic, basement, or around the house during a power outage. Use it for writing journals, working, camping, changing diapers at night, and a lot more.

Prince Iggy and the Tower of Decisions Book Review Blast

Welcome to the book review blast for Prince Iggy & the Tower of Decisions by Aldo Flynn!

Kirkus Reviews called the second book in the Adventures of Price Iggy, “a satisfying sequel to a memorable first book featuring an unprepossessing hero who might just become a household name.” This quirky and fast paced story with 30+ illustrations is ideal for middle grade readers and adults looking for a different kind of hero. Foreword Clarion wrote “delightful, adventurous story…Fynn uses this volume to address adolescent anxiety and self-doubt.” and IndieReader concluded Prince Iggy and the Tower of Decisions “offers excitement and surprises to keep young readers engaged.”

Iggy and his friends set sail for the Rose Kingdom. But Iggy isn’t sure if he has what it takes to really be a prince. Well, he’s about to find out…

When the Lucky Rose 2 blasts off into space, Iggy meets the Rose Star and literally has an out-of-body experience. And that’s just the beginning. His adventures include confronting a hungry shark face-to-face, dancing in a live-or-die talent competition, and battling a blue dragon with very clean teeth.

And when Iggy finally makes it to the Rose Kingdom, Queen Victoria refuses to give up the throne. If Iggy wants to become ruler of the Rose Kingdom, he must enter the Tower of Decisions. Only problem is, very few people make it out alive…

About the Author: Aldo Fynn

Aldo Fynn enjoys writing wacky, fantastical stories. Prince Iggy and the Kingdom of Naysayer is his debut novel. It’s the first book in theAdventures of Prince Iggy Series. He’s also written two wacky, laugh-out-loud picture books. He lives under his desk and promises he won’t come out until Book 3 in the series is complete. Which is a shame because his desk is based in Los Angeles, where it’s sunny and 70 degrees most of the year.

Review:

Iggy recently discovered he's the long lost prince of the Rose Kingdom, but he's kind of on the run from people who want him dead. When the famed Rose Star begins to blink in and out, everyone worries. Iggy's crew figures out that the star is using Morse code though. Iggy will soon find himself in space, trading bodies with a star, and then adventuring through the Tower of Decision to see if Iggy is truly a worthy leader of the Rose Kingdom.

This is an adorable book! It took me a little bit to settle into it having not read the first book, but it was very enjoyable. Iggy and his trusty advisers are fun. I imagine it would always be an adventure with them. The story really goes to some creative places, including "body" swapping with Iggy and a star. I thought this was a particularly enjoyable part of this book. It was very funny.

Along with the fun story, there were some very good messages about staying true to yourself and how to deal with difficult tasks. Of course, like any good series there's a bit of a cliffhanger at the end. This is a book that younger kids and adults could enjoy as well. It is fun and imaginative. I look forward to more books in this series.

Book provided for review.

American Ride Blast

Welcome to a blast for the BYUtv show American Ride!

American Ride

Host of AMERICAN RIDE, Stan Ellsworth breaks the mold of the stereotypical High School history teacher. Former history teacher Stan Ellsworth tours the country on a Harley Davidson for the television show “American Ride.” Ellsworth’s approach to American history in AMERICAN RIDE removes the “bow tie and sweater vest” of history professors, puts on the “skull rag and denim vest” and breaks down stereotypes. His adventurous spirit and love for the United States is contagious and engaging. His approach is more like an invitation to walk (and ride) with him through the footsteps of history. He hopes the stories and “postcards” from the highways and byways of the country will make American history relevant to today’s audiences, and motivate them to take an active part in the preservation of the values this country was built upon. Now in the sixth season, Stan takes you across the world to see how the clouds of war gathered once again and what led America to enter WWII. New episodes air each Monday 9PM ET/ 7PM MT on BYUtv. If you've missed any episodes, you can catch up with all of the previous seasons online anytime at www.byutv.com/americanride

Stan

ABOUT STAN ELLSWORTH

The 6’ 2”, 300-lb muscle-clad Harley Davidson-riding host of BYUtv’s acclaimed American history program, American Ride, would like nothing better than to inspire the next generation of George Washingtons, Susan B. Anthonys and Thomas Jeffersons. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in the Carolinas, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and Pennsylvania, Ellsworth was steeped in the landmarks and stories of American history throughout his formative years. His family lineage includes such historic luminaries as Revolutionary War patriot Ethan Allen; both Generals of the Cival War, Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant (also the 18th president of the U.S.); and American folk heroes Daniel Boone and Davy Crockett. Ellsworth’s goal—both when he was in the classroom, and now in his weekly television program—has always been to “wake people up” to the stories of our founding fathers and mothers, and to the sacrifices they made in creating this nation. In his gruff baritone voice, he speaks eloquently of our heritage and extols the wisdom and bravery of those who came before. “LET’S TAKE A RIDE” ~ Stan Ellsworth
