Seashell Beach is an idyllic setting, and these three short stories show that love is always in the air there. The three stories all tie-in with one shop, The Boardwalk Antiques Shop. Everything there has a story, and every person who comes in seems to have one as well. Jennifer inherited the shop from an aunt she never really liked, but she begins to wonder if maybe she didn't know her aunt all that well. Abbie is a girl who loves to read and write a good story. So one day when she sees something she's dying for in the antiques shop, she's not pleased to see she has competition. Very handsome competition. Cate's beloved grandmother has just passed away, and Cate's cousin has sold the one thing that Cate truly wanted of her grandmother's- an antique sewing machine. Cate tries desperate to get the machine back, but the dealer who bought it is disarming in a number of ways. All three girls will find what they least expected at The Boardwalk Antiques Shop.
I read The Fortune Cafe, so it was fun to revisit the somewhat familiar town of Seashell Beach. The authors do an amazing job of painting a picture of this town. I really felt like I was there on a vacation myself. The three stories are all love stories, but they take very different approaches to love. Some of the characters like to jump right in while others are a bit more hesitant. Past and present seems to collide for all these people. I love the overarching storyline of The Boardwalk Antiques Shop itself. It almost becomes a character in the story.
Often when I read short story collections like this, I have a favorite or perhaps one I didn't like as much as the others. This wasn't the case with this book. They are all very fun and sweet at the same time. They all managed to keep my interest very well and tell a lot of story in just a few pages. I think this would be a perfect beach read. I mean you practically feel like you are there already anyway! These stories were very enjoyable and quick reads. They just made me feel happy, and who can stay away from a book like that? Check out this book if you love sweet romances that make you feel good.

Sophie graduated with a degree in education, but as her real estate business was taking off she went that route. Things were looking great until the economy started to take a bit of a turn. Sophie is now finding herself in trouble financially, so it's time to return back to her original career plan. This finds Sophie in a room full of 6 year olds looking forward to a year of being responsible for their education and well being. She feels vastly unprepared for this new life. However, with the help of some friendly teachers and a handsome school worker, Sophie begins to get a new perspective on life.
I loved Sophie! She managed to walk a line between being impractical and practical at the same time. When she sits down and really looks at things, she realizes that real estate is not going to hold her in good stead. So she goes out to get a job in her original planned field, teaching. Of course, having been out of school for a few years, Sophie is just a tad bit rusty. This is not helped by the cranky teacher over the department. Thankfully some of the other teachers in the grade are much more helpful. I found this to be a fairly realistic representation of a work environment. Some people will love you, some will hate you, and yet you have to work with all of them. Sophie did a good job of trying to just do her best with everyone.
Of course, what's a career change without a little romance? Sophie finds this by way of the super handsome and somewhat mysterious Liam. I found the initial part of their relationship felt a tiny bit rushed, but things evened out at the story went on. They were a fun pair, and you couldn't help but cheer them on. Overall I found this book to be a very enjoyable read. Sophie really had to ask herself some important questions in the end about what was really important to her with regards to her life and her future. Sophie discovered that sometimes the most unexpected parts of life are the things that help us to truly find out who we are.

Devon's life is pretty steady. She works a basic job at a coffee house to support her real passion of graphic design. She takes care of her dad and her dog. She occasionally goes out with the handsome (and rich) Michael. All that changes though when a stranger comes into the coffee shop to order some black coffee. Suddenly nothing will ever be the same for Devon. In finding love, Devon may be finding even more that she had even imagined in her life.
This was a very sweet book. While Devon may not have the life of her dreams, she makes the most of what she does have. She works and does what she loves on the side. She takes care of her father in the best way she knows how. Devon does the best she can to carve out a life on her terms. Things begin to change when she meets the handsome Brandon. Suddenly Devon's life seems a bit empty without him. Brandon of course feels the same way. Devon has suddenly burst into his life, and nothing will be the same. The two of them feel instant attraction.
Devon and Brandon have their fair share of issues though. One of Devon's comes in the form of Michael, her ex-boyfriend. He doesn't take to kindly to being an ex it turns out. Together, Devon and Michael must figure out a path together. I found this to be a pretty quick read. Devon was a nice character. I like how she held to her convictions in life even with the pressure Michael was giving her. I appreciate Devon's ability to choose for herself and do things for all the right reasons. It's no wonder she fell for Brandon so quickly. He's a great guy who only wants the best for everyone in his life. People who want a sweet and fun romance will enjoy this book greatly.

Charlotte has a reputation of being a "husband maker." Everyone she dates goes on to marry the next person they meet. That's all fine and good, and Charlotte has dealt with it fairly well. However, she's realized that maybe she needs to focus those matchmaking skills elsewhere...on her best friend Angus. He surprised her by telling her that he was in love with her, and after some soul searching Charlotte has decided that he's perfect. The only problem is Angus has decided to move on with his life. Now Charlotte has to see if she can get back the one person she never thought she'd lose.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I was ready to see what happened in this one. Especially after the ending of the last book. The story jumps right in, but this time we get the added bonus of having some of Angus's point of view. It was very interesting. Angus is trying to save himself the pain of a breakup. Charlotte is his dear friend, but he can't separate that from his love for her. So he decides that distance and time may help with that, and he moves halfway across the country. Of course Charlotte is not likely to let a little cross-country move get in the way of the one thing she realizes she really needs- her best friend and one true love.
Sometimes I just wanted to shake Angus and tell him to get over his trepidation, but I kind of understood it at the same time. It's hard to jump in and risk so many things that are important to you. Charlotte though decided to be bold an make a major move. It was fun to see her so sure of what she wanted. Charlotte would let nothing get in her way. I think the author did a great job of keeping the tension from getting too repetitive and moving the story alone. This book was a wonderful conclusion to a very fun series. You could certainly read this as a standalone, but I recommend reading every one of these books!

The real question is whether they will let their pasts overcome their potential future.
This book was a great read. I loved that Cassie was an Irish step dance teacher. That was really fun the way that was incorporated into the story. I thought Noah was a great guy too, but I could see why Cassie's past was really holding her back. I've known people coming out of abusive marriages (and let's face it, that's what Cassie had), and it is truly difficult for them to get away from the mindset they had while being abused. I felt like that part of Cassie's story really rang true.
I felt like Noah really handled the situation well, as much as possible anyway. Watching these two work through everything was fun. There was just enough conflict to be interesting, but not enough to bog the story down in unnecessary problems. This is a sweet romance, and a fairly quick read. It will make you cheer for these two characters to get together too.

It will take a lot of work if these two are even going to manage to become friends, much less more than that.
I was interested in the premise of this book. The beginning seemed rather abrupt, but that worked with the overall story. It was a little jarring to read though. Celia was very stubborn, and sometimes I just wanted to tell her to get over her pride. She was so determined to do things her way even when it was pretty apparent to me as reader that she was not going what was best for her. As in any romance novel, Celia is drawn in ways she can't understand to Ty, even when she feels she shouldn't be. He was very kind though, so I can see why.
Celia was in search of something that I'm not even sure she even realized she wanted. She also kind of wobbled back and forth between wanting Ty and not wanting him in her life. That kind of bothered me. In the end though, it was a pretty fun book. It's definitely light reading. It is full of fun and romance. If you like handsome cowboys and like to see opposites attracted to each other, you'll enjoy this book.

I was excited to get to read another adventure in this series. After reading And Something Blue, I was intrigued by Laurie's roommates. The first one to read about was Morgan. I loved how the two stories intersected. I also loved the idea that sometimes what we think we want in love and what we really want can be two very different things. Morgan was sure she knew what she wanted until she was faced with some bad things happening. This led her to see what was truly important in life. This made for a super sweet story.

The weather cooled down just in time for me to enjoy these stories. You'll want to snuggle and get cozy before you start, because you won't want to stop once you start reading. I particularly enjoyed the first story, about a girl who grabs a random stranger in the airport to play boyfriend for her. While the ploy seems to work to get the unwanted attention from an old acquaintance off her, it also complicates things when she can't stop thinking about that kiss. All these stories have a happy ending, so you won't have to worry about losing your holiday cheer here. If you want fun romance for the Christmas season, then check these out. They will lift your spirits.

Amber is pretty fresh to Apple Blossom, but she absolute loves teaching. However, right before Christmas, her student Mary Noel is involved in a tragic accident. This is a relatively short but fun read. Amber is a young teacher who would do anything for her class, and this love of her students is soon put to the test. Amber's young pupil Mary Noel is involved in a sad accident, and Amber just knows she must do something. While visiting Mary Noel, Amber meets a friend of the family, the dashing and sweet Paul. Amber and Paul are a great match in multiple ways. They grow closer as they work to serve Mary Noel and her family.
If you are looking for a sweet romance that will raise your spirits for the holidays, this is a great choice. If I had one little complaint, it would be that Amber and Paul were a little too perfect. I mean they practically had no flaws. However, if you're escaping from the business of the holidays, you may want a story with very little to bring you down. This story just lifts up. It is a fun and quick read for your holiday season.

Julia has a pretty boring life. She's been working at a company doing something that she doesn't really like for a decade while living in her parents basement. As for her love life? Well, she doesn't even want to talk about that. Her true passion is baking, but her aversion to change keeps her nose to the grindstone. When a handsome new hire comes, things begin to change though. However, Julia is forced to change things even faster than she wanted. Julia's going to have to learn to embrace the change or get swept away by it.
This was an interesting book for me. At the beginning I didn't find Julia all that interesting. I mean, she was 32 not 82. She acted like her life was over because she didn't have a male around. I did feel for her being stuck in a rut though. I just thought she was a little sad-sack. As Julia was slowly forced to change though, these things began to also change so that I found that I liked her more. By the end of the book I thought she was a great character. So I was glad I stuck with Julia through thick and thin. Julia's friend Brown was hilarious, and you can see why those two would be good friends. I wanted to gossip with them.
I knew there was something up with some other members of the cast, but I wasn't completely sure what was going on, so that part of the plot was very interesting to me. This was a book the grew on me in the end, much like Julia. Once she found things that made her happy, the whole tone of the book began to change and became much more entertaining to me. Julia is forced to learn some hard truths, and it is super fun to get to read about it. The ending made me feel happy, and I love when books can do that.

Sienna has a job she loves and a loving boyfriend. Well, kind of. Her job situation is not the best. She works for a rich socialite that hardly does any of the work, and Sienna's boyfriend is less than attentive most of the time. Sienna is getting ready to break out on her own though by forming her own company. She just has one last big event to plan. It turns out though that this may be the toughest event of all to plan. Add in drama with her boyfriend in the form of a very attractive old rival, and Sienna may have more on her plate than she can handle.
This was a super cute book. It was just fluffy and fun. Sienna is a great character. No matter what happens she handles it with calm. That's not to say she doesn't get emotional because she does, it's just that she never wallows in the bad. Sienna is totally someone you'd want to be friends with because she lifts up people and quickly owns up to her mistakes. The only thing you could question is why she is still with her boyfriend. He is horribly inattentive and forgetful. However Sienna is nothing if not loyal. That's admirable.
There a bit of a twist in the story that is not too hard to figure out because plenty of clues are dropped. That doesn't make the reveal have any less impact though. Oh, and there's also the handsome Ace to talk about. I love the maturity that both Ace and Sienna have. They don't try to hide things and actively hash things out. How refreshing. The ending of the book was very unexpected to me. I did love it though. It stuck when the tone of the book and Sienna's true character. This is a fun and fast read that will entertain.
