(Summary contains spoilers if you have not yet read book #1 The Husband Maker

It’s been six months since Charlotte and Kyle broke up, and the Husband Maker strikes again. Kyle is officially engaged, while Charlotte is still nursing a broken heart. In an effort to get Charlotte out of her rut, she and her best friend decide it’s time for some good old-fashioned matchmaking. While Aleena arranges for Charlotte to meet up with a handsome Scottish tourist, Charlotte gets her two best friends together. But when sparks start to fly between Aleena and Angus, Charlotte is left feeling more alone that ever--at least until the charming Scotsman becomes more than just a safe, rebound guy and teaches her that maybe, just maybe, she can dare to open her heart again.

Review:

Charlotte has quite a reputation when it comes to men. It seems that once someone breaks up with her, they marry the next person they date. Unfortunately for Charlotte, this is the case with her most recent relationship as well. She thought this one was forever, but things didn't work out that way. Now Charlotte is trying to find a way to move on, and this includes jumping right back in to the dating pool. She also tries to match up two of her best friends. When everything seems to be working out though, Charlotte begins having second thoughts.

I was eager to read this book having read the first, and it did not disappoint. Charlotte is still very easy to relate to. I love that she's a very real, natural character. After finding out what has happened with her ex Kyle, she takes some time to be upset and depressed. Then she quickly takes good advice and gets back out there. She's a bit resistant, but she manages to find ways to move on. This makes the story feel like something that could happen to any of us. As things progress, Charlotte is forced to really ponder her life and how she perceives things.

Of course, the big plot point in this book is one I saw coming from the first book, so it was no surprise to me. However, it again felt very real. These characters have decided what is best for their lives, and sometimes trying to make the most of your current life makes things messy in other areas. I cannot wait to see how all of this is resolved in the next book. There is a definite open ending here. If you loved the first book you will love this one as well. And if you haven't read the first book, well what are you waiting for?
